Hello there and welcome to my website. My name is Maia Feruzi, pronouns she/they, and I am a 26 year old queer freelance photographer based in Chicago. I am also a writer specializing in poetry, short stories, blogs, and creative interviews.

I spend as much time as possible creating art to satisfy my endless need for self expression. Most of my work centers around portrait or cinematic photography and creative writing. I draw inspiration from great directors like Wong Kar Wai and am fascinated by the ability to capture someone’s essence in a photograph.

I fell in love with photography 7 years ago and have been honing my craft ever since. I hope to give new light and voices to black and queer models through my photography as someone who grew up never seeing herself represented in art unless it was through a historical lens.
