concept

This was a shoot where adaptability was heavily required. Originally we planned to shoot inside the Boston Public Library and play with the juxtaposition of studious students, stiff books, and overall strict education vibes with fun and loose high fashion clothing. This plan was immediately foiled by a security guard that all but chased us out of the library despite me not using flash in the photos or any complaints given by the other library visitors. Instead of dwelling on that we made our way across the street to a hotel and found a staircase leading up to a small carpeted nook that wound up being perfect for our needs, and still gave us some of that juxtaposition we were looking for with setting vs style. The knitted pieces Chris is wearing are also original creations by a designer he knew so I wanted to spotlight that and make some of the shots a tribute to fashion catalogues.
