When I was in middle school at Audubon Elementary, I too did Girls on the Run. It was a chance for me to feel good about myself and my achievements in a community of girls my age, all focused on the same mission. I loved it! I loved the bonds I created with my coaches and my fellow runners. I loved the strength and confidence I felt in my body. I never imagined in a thousand years that over a decade later, I would be working as the primary photographer for the same organization. It’s a completely full circle moment. I always cry during the race and even during editing the photos because I’m so overcome with nostalgia, appreciation, and pride for the next generation of girls. It brings me sheer happiness that I still get to be apart of the organization, so many years later.
