I have always loved playgrounds as settings for photoshoots. There are so many diverse angles and shots you can take because of the different “props” i.e. jungle gym, swings, bars, children’s toys, and it’s always fun to bring a sort of high fashion editorial vibe to the youthful and fun setting which is exactly what we did here. I wanted a sort of preppy but whimsical vibe so I asked for a sweater vest, pleated skirt and mary janes and let Katy take free rein for accessories. I also brought a pair of sheer dotted gloves that I thought brought in a dainty element while tying the look together and would be fun to play with in close up shots. The playground we shot in was not directly in the sun so we had a sort of cool and gloomy atmosphere while shooting before the sun peeked through in the end. As I edited I leaned into that and highlighted the blues and greens of the photos to complete the cold look.
