concept

Up till this point I had very little experience with shooting outdoors and the challenges that come with that(lighting and wind). I bought some new sheer curtains for my room but thought they could be fun to experiment with in a shoot as well. The reservation near my house had many different spots including a wheat field. I really wanted to shoot in there and see how the fabric would look against the natural setting. Kiana was more than happy to join me as the model as they were just beginning to test the waters of their modeling career and needed some practice as well. We both love folktales and spooky things so we came up with the concept of Baba Yaga taking a stroll on her territory but make it fashion. We wanted subtle spookiness but mostly wistful, effortless power and lots of movement. It was extremely windy that day which wound up working in our favor and gave us exactly the kind of shots we were looking for.
