concept

After seeing photos of the beach by Liv’s house I knew it would be perfect for a siren themed shoot. Rather than mermaids, siren’s are much more dangerous and alluring. They often have an innocent look on their face before dragging you under the waves. We chose a billowy white dress to play with graceful movement and also to get translucent moments when she entered the water. Liv also has a background in ballet and dance which lended a hand to her poise and ability to keep her hands elegant. The sun peeked in and out of the clouds for most of the shoot which helped us get into a darker and sensual aesthetic. I wanted the whole shoot to be very moody and soft, almost hazy, like the trance one would be under while being hypnotized in a siren song.
