Recuerdos en madrid - memories in madrid
My first time in Spain and my one takeaway was they know what they’re doing when it comes to architecture. My mother had an extra ticket after her friend cancelled and like the free 99 loving individual I am I jumped, on it. It was my first time in Europe let alone Spain and I had no idea what to expect beyond what cinema has shown me, which equated to yellow tones, dancing in the street and siestas as far as the I could see. For the most part, that is exactly what I found. A city of relaxed and friendly people who’ve mastered the art of slow living. What really struck me was the beauty of the buildings, the winding infrastructure, and the history in every cobbled stone I stepped on. For that reason I found my creative eye seeking out skylines and snippets of daily life as I meandered around the city as opposed to my usual people seeking lens.
