Isabel and Christopher met during her time working in Mexico and fell in love. Unfortunately, with how busy they became with their work, moving to the states and getting settled, they never got a chance to take engagement or wedding photos despite being married. They reached out to me hoping to still capture some of that magic now that they had settled into a stable routine here in the states. I was more than happy to do so and it was made even easier after meeting the couple and seeing the depth of their love in person. Isabel expressed to me that Christopher was extremely camera shy and altogether did not enjoy taking photos but was doing so for her, so if I could get a few good shots of them she’d be satisfied but was not looking for a miracle.
I took that input and adjusted my direction style. I usually do not speak too much when I shoot as I like to capture models in a more natural and unposed manner but this time I directed them in almost every shot, from facial expressions to movement and body angles. I had them be silly in order to loosen Christopher up and make him more comfortable before we moved on to a few more serious shots. Thankfully the Quarries were quite empty this day so there wasn’t a huge audience and they were able to focus on expressing their love for each other. I aimed for a whimsical, dreamy, fairy tale theme that I thought matched the couple perfectly.
